Capstone Strategic announced today that Immanuel, a leader in the field of retirement living in the Midwest has acquired senior living community The Shores at Pleasant Hill. With this acquisition, Immanuel gains its first senior living community in Iowa and builds on its mission of serving seniors in the region.
Capstone Strategic, Inc. (Capstone) announced today that Immanuel has acquired The Shores at Pleasant Hill, a senior living community offering independent, assisted living, and memory support options in Des Moines, Iowa. With this acquisition Immanuel executed its strategy to become a regional leader by expanding its geographic footprint into Iowa. Capstone guided Immanuel on the execution of this strategic, not-for-sale acquisition. The acquisition was completed on October 1, 2018.
Immanuel was founded in 1887 and provides Christ-Centered Service to Seniors, Each Other and the Community. Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, Immanuel operates 13 communities offering independent, assisted living, memory support, and long-term care throughout the Midwest region. The Shores is Immanuel’s first senior living community in the state of Iowa and joins the Immanuel Pathways Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE®) center that opened in 2015.
Capstone assisted Immanuel on gaining strategic alignment around the acquisition opportunity, negotiation, due diligence, and deal execution, allowing Immanuel to strengthen its vision of building communities that provide compassionate care to residents in the Midwest. Capstone also advised on Immanuel’s acquisition of senior living community Clark Jeary of Lincoln, Nebraska last year.
“We are excited to acquire The Shores, a community that is closely aligned with our culture and commitment to providing exemplary care for seniors in the Midwest. As our M&A advisor, Capstone helped bring together our two organizations in this strategic acquisition, and as a result, we are stronger together and continue to grow in the region,” said Eric Gurley, CEO of Immanuel.
“By acquiring The Shores and entering the Iowa market, Immanuel strengthens its position as a regional leader in the senior living space. We are pleased to see another piece of Immanuel’s long-term growth strategy come to fruition.” said David Braun, CEO of Capstone.
